Healthier than store bought Pancake Mix: HONEY'S WHOLE WHEAT PANCAKES

Most commerical pancake mixes have ingredients that are not healthy for you or they have preservatives that you can avoid completely! Below is a healthier recipe!!!!

Two examples

Hungry Jack Wheat Pancakes Ingredient List:
(from their website)
ENRICHED BLEACHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, MALTED BARLEY FLOUR, NIACIN, IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE, RIBOFLAVIN, FOLIC ACID), WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, SUGAR, DEXTROSE, BAKING POWDER (BAKING SODA, MONOCALCIUM PHOSPHATE, SODIUM ALUMINUM PHOSPHATE), PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF: SALT, POTASSIUM BICARBONATE, CALCIUM CARBONATE, EGGS, CORN STARCH, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, IRON, NIACIN, VITAMIN B6, RIBOFLAVIN, THIAMIN MONONITRATE, FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12.

Bisquick Mix:

The "evil" ingredients in these are:
Enriched Bleached Flour
PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL
Aluminum Phosphate (aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer's and other brain disorders)
PLUS MANY OTHERS!!!!

So I created my own pancake mix!  No harsh preservatives or ingredients that have no health benefits.

Honey's Whole Wheat Pancakes

4 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups unbleached all purpose flour (always by unbleached)
2/3 cup sugar  (raw sugar or a stevia substitute if available)
2 tablespoons ALUMINUM FREE baking powder
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients in container with lid.
(I used an freshly emptied oatmeal box. Then shook it to mix.)

For regular pancakes:
1 cup pancake mix
1 egg
3/4 cups milk  (you can add more or less to fit your preference for pancakes)

To prepare pancakes: In a bowl, place your pancake mix. Add egg and milk.  Whisk about 20 times.. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a lightly greased hot skillet or griddle. (For BABIES AND TODDLERS use 1/8 cupfuls. This gives you smaller portions for them, plus baby sizes are so cute!) When bubbles form on top of pancakes flip over. Cook until second side is golden brown.

Berry Pancakes:

Follow the regular pancake recipe just add 3/4 cup Strawberries, Blueberries, or Blackberries.

For Berry Banana Pancakes:

Follow the regular pancake recipe add 3/4 cup strawberries or blueberries and 1 medium banana, mashed very well.  (I use my Kitchen Ninja to puree the banana.)
